Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer joked about Spanish Barcelona player Robert Lewandowski after the match of the second round of the Champions League group stage. His words are quoted by journalist Toby Altsheffl in Twitter.
“Today you could see that Robert loves Bayern,” Hainer said.
The meeting was held on September 13 in Munich and ended with the score 2:0 in favor of the hosts. In the 50th minute, defender Luca Hernandez opened the scoring. Four minutes later, midfielder Leroy Sane increased the team’s lead.
Lewandowski, 34, joined Barcelona on 19 July 2022. His contract with the Catalan club runs until 2026. The striker’s contract with Bayern expired in the summer of 2023. Despite this, Lewandowski expressed his desire to leave the club and go to Barcelona.
