Jordan Henderson and Gabriel could be seen exchanging words in calmer scenes after Arsenal beat Liverpool on Sunday.
The pair had become involved in a furious row towards the end of the Gunners’ 3-2 victory, and FA chiefs have been called in to investigate after an on-pitch comment was reported.
Referee Michael Oliver informed both managers that a comment had been reported at the time, and he has spoken to both players to get their versions of the incident. Lip readers could also be used to review footage from the matter, while players who were nearby during the furious bust-up between both sides may also be asked what they saw and heard.
Tensions were heightened at the Emirates after Arsenal were awarded a late penalty for a foul by Thiago Alcantara on Gabriel Jesus, with Bukayo Saka scoring the winner from the spot.
Several players became involved a row in the Liverpool penalty area, but witnesses claimed that the incident had calmed down by the time both sets of players had reached the tunnel.
The same can be said shortly after the game as both sets of players shook hands as the Gunners celebrated returning to the top of the league.
In a video posted on the Tasty Football YouTube account on Tuesday, both sets of players embrace shortly after the final whistle with Henderson initially high-fiving his England colleague Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel engaging in a hug with fellow centre-back Virgil van Dijk.
