Arsenal winger Marquinhos broke down in tears after scoring on his debut against FC Zurich in the Europa League.
The 19-year-old arrived from Sao Paulo in the summer and was given his first start in Thursday evening’s Group A opener.
Fabio Vieira collected the ball and played it out wide to Eddie Nketiah to start a Gunners counter attack.
Nketiah galloped down the wing before whipping in a cross for Marquinhos to latch on to.

He fired a shot past Yanick Brecher with his right foot and his emotions got the better of him.
Marquinhos collapsed to his knees and put his head to the turf for a good few seconds, before Vieira came over to lift him off the ground.
He once again bent down as the rest of his teammates arrived for the celebrations.
One person commented: “Look at how much it means to him.”
Another said: “Seeing that has got me a little bit emotional too.”
While a third tweeted: “Love that passion from him, on his first game.”
Zurich grew into the game and were given a golden opportunity just before the break, when Nketiah brought down a Zurich attacker in the box.

Nketiah put Arsenal ahead against just after the hour mark to seal a 2-1 victory.
He told Arsenal’s official website: “I’m very happy with him. He has adapted very well and he’s a really likeable figure in the dressing room and around Colney.

“His language is not great yet but I think his physicality has been pretty exceptional, for someone who has come from Brazil and has a different way to train and play, but he’s done it.
“I think he’s got the qualities for how we want to play. We will keep him here for another few months and make sure that he establishes himself at the club and in the team. Afterwards, we’ll see what the best movement is for his career.”
