The creative midfielder, Naby Keita could leave Liverpool at the end of the season. Teams from London like Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in signing him, the 52 milion pound Guinean international.
According to a report from sport website 90min, Nabil Keita will be a free agent at the end of the season.
And the London teams like Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are hoping to get the 27-year-old Liverpool midfielder on a free transfer.
Liverpool signed Guinea international Naby Keita from RB Leipzig four years ago for a price of around £52 million.
However, this transfer has not worked out as expected.
Despite being top talent, the player has never quite justified his transfer fee because of persistent injury problems.
Keita hasn’t play any game this season because of injury issues, and Liverpool seem don’t want to offer him a contract extension. The report from english media 90min claims that the player’s representatives wanted a contract extension at the start of the season, but Liverpool board refused to give in to their demands.
It seems that Keita is now unhappy with the situation, and it will be interesting to see how his future unfolds. The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham are looking to add more quality and depth to their midfield and view the 27-year-old Liverpool midfielder as a quality option.
Tottenham are lacking in depth as far as their midfield unit is concerned. And Keita would be an excellent alternative to Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. As far as Chelsea are concerned, N’Golo Kante and Jorginho have been linked with moves away from the club at the end of the season.
Chelsea will thus need to bring in someone like Keita. Being able to sign the Liverpool midfielder on a free transfer would represent a massive bargain for both Tottenham and the Blues. Meanwhile, Arsenal will likely relish the opportunity to bolster their midfield department by landing Keita.
The report further claims that Keita has interest from clubs in France, Italy, Germany and Spain. Barcelona have recently shown interest in him, and it will be interesting to see where the 27-year-old ends up eventually.
There is no doubt that the Liverpool midfielder is a top-class player on his day. But his injury problems have stopped him from realising his world-class potential. If Keita can get over his persistent fitness issues, the 27-year-old would be an exceptional acquisition for most clubs in the world. He will be able to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs when the transfer window opens in January.
