Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will not be making a return to Old Trafford following the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup after a termination of his contract was agreed by mutual consent. This was huge news around the world.

Following an interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo made numerous huge controversial comments regarding Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, the state of the club and many other topics.

Ronaldo is currently at the Qatar World Cup with Portugal, who begin their tournament on Thursday against Ghana, but following the conclusion of the competition, he will not be heading back to Manchester.

With Ronaldo’s second spell at United now over, the topic of where he will be heading next is high on the agenda with Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea two European heavyweights expected to be interested.

Todd Boehly is a keen huge admirer of Ronaldo and attempted to bring him to the Blues in the summer after the 37-year-old expressed his unhappiness at Man United but Chelsea manager at the time Thomas Tuchel was firmly against the move.

The departure of the German though could now mean Chelsea go back in for Ronaldo although Graham Potter has already offered his verdict on the Portugal forward where he seems to play down the idea of him potentially joining Chelsea.

However, the Blues struggles up front could prompt Boehly to convince Potter the deal may be worth it, at least on a short-term basis with Christopher Nkunku looking likely to arrive at Stamford Bridge for the start of the 2023/24 season.

Another option for Ronaldo is French champions PSG who recently brought Lionel Messi to the club following his contract complications at Barcelona and with a wealth of funds at their disposal, Ronaldo could be the latest star attacker to arrive in Paris.

The thought of the five-time Champions League winner joining would form an attack that most only dream of as he would link up with not only Messi, but also Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.

Away from Europe, Ronaldo may be tempted by a huge money move to the Middle East or alternatively he could join former Real Madrid team-mate Gareth Bale in the MLS. Arsenal is an alternative too. Ronaldo in the interview says that hope Arsenal to win the Premier League.

Sporting CP are favourites to sign the superstar, while Chelsea are second
