Fury, one of boxing’s two reigning heavyweight champions, has been looking for a new opponent since his win over Dereck Chisora at Wembley Stadium in December.
However, after a proposed undisputed fight with Oleksandr Usyk failed to materialize earlier this year, and Anthony Joshua missed out on facing him in September, Fury has now been forced to turn to Ngannou.
The Cameroonian reigned for nearly two years as the UFC heavyweight champion before stepping down from the sport in January.
