Tottenham defender Ben Davies won’t definitely be fit for the north London derby, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.
The £60,000 per-week star is nursing a knee problem, which forced him to miss both of Wales’ Nations League games and has put him in a race against time to be available for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal.
According to The Athletic, the Welshman suffered a knee injury in the Champions League defeat to Sporting CP earlier this month.
Davies received treatment during the game in Lisbon but was still able to complete the 90 minutes.
Regardless, the injury kept the 29-year-old out of the victory over Leicester before the international break and then forced him to withdraw from Wales’ matches with Belgium and Poland.
Conte provided a promising update ahead of the Leicester game, stating that it’s not serious and expected Davies to be back once the Premier League returns next weekend.
But with the quick turnaround from the international fixtures, Barclay doesn’t think there’s any guarantees he’ll be fit to face Arsenal.
