Well, Chelsea look set to pip Arsenal to the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk.
According to Sky Sports on Saturday, the West Londoners have agreed an £88.5 million transfer fee with the Shakhtar Donetsk for the Emirates Stadium-linked attacker.
Arsenal had been winning the race to sign the 21-year-old gem for much of the January transfer window.
But yesterday afternoon, Chelsea, who had been linked, stole a march on their London rivals and now it’s them, not the Gunners, who look set to secure his signature.
Speculation about a transfer to Arsenal was so advanced at one stage that Gabriel Magalhaes even began following the player on Instagram.
But after the news broke that he was more than likely joining Chelsea, the big Brazilian defender then unfollowed Mudryk on the same platform, revealing exactly how he feels about the situation.
Although bitter, you can understand Gabriel’s actions.
Mudryk has just gone from a likely teammate of his to an extreme rival and therefore unfollowing the would-be Chelsea player was always the correct stance.
That being said, there is an argument to be made that the Arsenal powerhouse jumped the gun in the first place and followed him before it was concrete that he was bound for London Colney.
